Schmiede Corporation’s grinding department is one of the best equipped in the Southeast with highly skilled professionals using the latest inspection equipment such as CMMs, Talyrond roundness & profile gaging and various Marposs air gages. Tolerances held to within 0.0001” are common in our temperature controlled environment on hard alloys and super alloys. We have over 40 CNC & conventional cylindrical and surface grinders kept in excellent condition by our Machine Tool Repair division. Periodic calibrations of machines and instrumentation conform to National Institute of Standards & Technology.
For the most precise hole boring and grinding, we have three jig boring/grinding machine tools. These machines are housed in a temperature controlled environment that ensures holding consistent tolerances in the 0.0002″ range and 0.001″ true position.
